Rosemary's Heart

Snowy nights of bitter cold
Travel across an utterly vacant town.
Deserted- except for a single cabin
But its windows are closed, the drapes are drawn,
No light can be seen through its thin panes of glass.
Somewhere inside, all alone, lies a girl who nobody knows.
She keeps quite so no one knows she's there.
But muffled by the pillow under her face, she cries.
There was no gold for her at the end of the rainbow,
There was no wish after the shooting star.
The family in which she never had
Aches deep inside her heart
And the love she never felt burns forever inside.
Living her life as an outcast, she has no friends,
No one to tell her that she's special
Or beautiful in any way.
Not once in her life did anyone care,
Nobody saw past her raggy and unkempt hair,
They just ignored her and she disappeared.
Nobody noticed she was gone, not even after it was too late.
